Network structure of callous-unemotional traits and conduct disorder symptoms among at-risk youth: M

This study aimed to examine the network connectivity between Callous-Unemotional features and Conduct Disorder symptoms by measuring underlying constructs and identifying core characteristics.

Researchers aim to examine the network connectivity between Callous-Unemotional (CU) features and Conduct Disorder (CD) symptoms by measuring underlying constructs and identifying core characteristics. The study uses data from both parent reports, youth reports and gender differences. Network plots displayed greater connectivity for CU features relative to CD symptoms across all informants. Youth reported CU features and CD symptoms were less densely connected than parent-reports. Gender related effects showed lower centrality for male v female youth which was particularly evident in youth reports. This report points to the importance of callousness items in conceptualizations of CU features among high-risk youth from the parents and child's perspective.
